Can be used with the stock Prelude wheel?

My car still has the original 205/50 X 16 Bridgestones (@74K). I want to get new tires preety soon as the tread wear blocks are showing up. The 'Lude has somewhat of a rare tire size. Can I go with a larger tire and still stick with the standard wheel. I'm not interested in paying extra to buy new wheels.

I think I asked this before, or a similar question and never got an answer. I'm wondering this because I'm thinking of getting a little larger tire when I get my new tires (prob nxt month).

Will 215/50 or 225/50 fit on the stock 16 inch wheels??

 

a 215/50 would fit, but not only will it be wider, but taller.....your speedo will be off some....when doing 55, it might show 50mph or so.....not a lot, but some
your final drive will be a touch lower too.....

 

you could go with a 205/55/16 it is not hard to find
