Default Some q's about 4th gen conversions.....

OK, i'm looking for a new lude to start building, and have my totaled SI to take parts from. first question is....If I have my manual tranny & everything still in good condition, and I end up buying an Automatic cause it's a good price, how hard would the swap be? second, if I buy a VTEC model lude, how hard would it be to convert it to 4WS? again, I have all the parts necessary (except any connecting to the right wheel) thanx!

The tranny swap is very easy. You will have to remove the flywheel and the torque converter and replace it with a clutch and flywheel. I dont know anything about 4ws but why do you want it so bad? 4ws just adds weight and isn't needed. But it's your project so do what you want.

what about the pedal assembly & console swap? I'm assuming the console swap woule be fairly easy, but what about the pedals? Do I have to drill through the firewall for the clutch pedal? did honda just plug the hole in the firewall w/ a rubber plug so it's just awaiting installation?

firewall should have a knockout plug for the master cylinder. you'll need all the pedal hardware. also you may need a new dash cluster for manual, whole shift linkage with cables, and a shift boot. the center console is easily converted to manual tranny use just by screwing in the leather boot.
