Does anyone know if it is illegal to have clear taillamps with colored bulbs in california? A pic of them is at http://www.2kracing.com/prelude-lights/ about halfway down under clear tails. I want to purchase these lamps instead of the Euro's, but my friend told me that they are illegal in california now since it is harder to see your lights in the daylight or something... anyone have any info? Thanks. Also, i was wondering if anyone here has had any problems with blitz kits for 97-01 Preludes. I was considering purchasing one, but I've been hearing that these kits are really hard to fit on Preludes.... thanks.

 

In NJ, clear tails are illegal. Not DOT approved. I think as long as you paint the brake lights red, you'll be ok.

 

I believe clear taillights are illegal in all states, cause you need to have some kind of red reflector coming from the side of the lense....Just stick with your stock taillights

 

Possibly illegal... plus they just look plain weird! :dunno:

 

if they are'nt dot approved, they are illegal. but i hear if you keep your parking lights on when johny law is tail'n you, you shouldn't get bothered. as long as you have the good bulbs that shine red and not pink.
and if the rest of your car isnt to raced out and such.
and if you do find those bulbs, let me know what type they are, cuz ive been looking my self.

 

they're Illegal in NM, but i've had them on my lude for 3 yrs now and have never gotten pulled over for THEM..... =) but i do replace the bulbs every few months.

 

they're illegal.... tail lights like said above must have a red reflector in them.
