The top left of the throttle body. BUT, if you are going to do the adjustment yourself, you need to get a Chiltons or similar technical manual, because you must disconnect something while making the adjustment. And DO NOT turn more than 1/4 of a turn per minute. There's really a whole process that you should follow when making idle checks and adjustments. I think you need to run the engine fast untill the cooling fan comes on to begin with. Believe me, you don't just want to go turning screws all over the place. You should follow the guidelines to check where your idle is now, and where it should be, and what exactly you need to do to get it there.

Hey Prelude99,
I tried to email you, but I got some error messages. I got your email. To answer your questions:
I did not get your original email, my work moved from DC to Virginia about a month ago and our computers, networks, etc are different. My home computer is kaput, so I lost any emails from Dec 13 until today.
My car still has a shaky idle. Other than that it runs fine. I was surfing over at s2ki.com and someone over there said one of the first signs that you need a valve adjustment is a lumpy idle. My 'Lude has 62K and I have not had the valves adjusted yet.
The last tank of gas, I got some Sunoco Ultra 94 octane. After filling up, I ran the car hard for 20-30 miles, staying above 5K rpm between shifts, and keeping it in 4th instead of 5th on the hiway.

That seems to have made a difference, the car seems to idle smoother and run better than before. I think the next couple of tankfuls, I will use some fuel injector cleaner and see if that does any good. If you find a soultion, let me know!

i tried the higher octane and the fuel injector cleaner and neither did anything, so if I adjust the valves before you do I will let you know if that did anything......I didnt mean to write you so much or seem so bothersome but its just that the preludes are the black sheep of the honda community. Meaning it is harder to find other people with the same problem you are having/solution since there are less. I aprreciate you responding to me, please keep in touch.....someone suggested to me that it could be a defective spark plug (I have 51K miles) and ive never done them, but I do not think so......

It's all good Prelude99. I don't mind the emails. It's good to know there are other Prelude enthusiasts out there. Frankly, I like hearing from people from time to time, nice to know I was missed during my absence from the board. Far as the car goes, it's still the same.

hey 2000prelude..... I have been posting on some other site honda-tech.com , h22a.org forums and everyone there seems to think it will definitely be a worn/torn motor mount, im going to inpsect them, my front mount looks a little worn, they said it was a common problem on those motors..... as far as the valves, I did the valve adjustment to factory spec and it still shakes a little bit at idle with the idle being steady, so the only thing I can think of is it being one of the mounts.....

Yo Preylude99,

Thanks for the heads up. I don't doubt that that is proably right. My car has been making strange creaking noises sometimes when I stop hard or when I get on or off the clutch from a dead stop. And yes, compared to other cars I've owned, the Prelude mounts do seem kind of "soft".
