1988 Si QuEsTiOnS !!!
Hey guys i've tried searching to find stats/specs on 3rdgen preludes and i was just wondering with the 2.0 DOHC engine does it have vtec ? and if so you know when it engages, what their 1/4 mile times are ? i might be gettin an 1988 Si with automatic
any help would be greatly appreciated... btw you know if the bolt patterns 4x100 still ?
thanks alot guys. -peace

nope, no vtec. 1/4 mi times are like low-mid 16's stock. 4x100 is the bolt pattern.
I had a 90 Si with an automatic before I got my current lude. It's not all that bad. It has a weird "Sport Shift" mode that raises the shift points and lets you hold 3rd gear.

Sweet thanks Kaspin yeah the one im looking at has the sportshift too. wish it was a manual but owell... you have any idea where i can get a CAI for it ? i keep reading this DIY articles on relocating my battery and im not about to mess with that, and in a few other pics i've seen some that go strait down from the intake manifold you know if any manufactuers make an intake for the 3rd Gen ludes ? thanks
No one makes a CAI specifically for the 3rd gens. I've seen some put in a CAI from a ITR, which puts the filter down inbetween the radiator and tranny. You can also get a short ram from a 92-95 civic, which will put the filter in the space behind the battery.
Most prefab CAI's that I've seen for 3rd gen's require the relocation of the battery. I, however, have not seen everything.
Unless there's some kind of shield or guard, I wouldn't want to run it straight down. It's mostly all open there and not far from the ground. Too easily damaged or possibility for problems I would suspect.
