i did it today. no problems whatsoever. i actually just snipped the wire and added male and female connectors. much simpler for the same job.

 

They have you do the toggle switch for serive and things because i think you cant get engine codes with the wire disconnected. you flip the toggle to on or just connect the wire again to get engine codes. also it wont erase radio presets if you do the toggle.
