Default adj cam gears ... reconfig v-afc?

if i adjust my cam gears, would i need to adjust my v-afc ?

i went to dyno my car today, but it turns out he's a eurotuner only. he does a great job at tuning the v-afc, but he didnt want to mess with me cam gears and stuff...

if i get them tuned at another dyno, would i need to change my v-afc settings?

you have to tune the cams and VAFC together.

and i dont understand how a "eurotuner" cant adjust your cam gears... except for the fact that anyone who calls themself a eurotuner tunes european cars, therefore not being specialized with a VAFC.

even though there are settings that are EASILY set :-/

well that was a pointless 2hour and 100$ trip :madfawk:

If he doesn't want to mess with them he probably shouldn't. I would go to a tuner that's comfortable with your car. And yes you need to tune the VFAC with the cam gears to tune correctly.

Try Abacus racing in Virginia beach. Is that a 2 or 3 hour trip for you? Any way he did my gears just fine. I am going back to have them set for my new exhaust. Good luck.

you should try doing a compression check on your engine.... your numbers were really low and im not sure that the cam gears set the way they were would cost you that much power.

as for eurospeed... the guy there is good with an afc. all the bmw people use em, but thats about all he can do conserning a honda. i wish i'd a been there while your car was on the dyno, im sure we could have goten some more out of it

well.. i'm running a 10.5:1 ratio

i guess i'll just take it to jacksonvill, nc

that place in VA is a ways away.. i'm in the very southern tip of NC.

i was looking at the charts and noticed it said he redlined 'till 6800, but he went 'till almost 8000. could it be he didnt pick the closed ratio to 1:1 ? wouldnt that effect the formula for the tourque, etc ?

if he had the gear ratios wrong the torque figures will be off b/c torque is multiplied by gear ratios, but the hp figures will not be affected at all.
