Default Clutch

I have had my car for about 2 years now. When I first bought it the clutch was great but lately the clutch and synchros are horrible. I read somewhere that even the slightest pressure on the clutch while you are driving can make it go bad. Is that true? And is power shifting bad on the clutch?

Power shifting is very very bad on the clutch. But unless you're at really high RPMs, pressing the clutch down won't mess things up - unless you're riding it. Then it will wear it down considerably.

You've had the car for 2 years now, so it maybe about time to start saving up for a new clutch..How often do you drive your car? How many miles where on your car when you bought it, and how many is on it now? A clutch isn't made to last forever.

They *can* last forever ... if you drive extremely conservatively, or if you have a REALLY weak motor (like my old 5spd Volvo 240) with a REALLY strong clutch. When that car died at 200K+, the clutch was as good as the day it came out of the factory. But that's exceptional. "Normal" driving will probably result in an eventual replacement.

if you buy a good enough clutch power shifting should not hurt it at all because of fast solid engagment
