When the insurance company checked the numbers, about to pay for a new engine, they found his was a replacement with somewhere up near 200K on it!!! They then scrapped the car, assuming lots of other things were suspect, and with his check he bought a non-turbo totally-authentic Honda Civic... ah, we all learn sometime, I suppose...
I've been offered $8,500 for my 1993 Prelude VTEC with 56,000 miles. I'm the only owner. I bought it new in October, 1992 and it is stock except for OEM fogs, OEM cd changer, winter wheels and tires plus stock rims with new tires and brand new OEM bra. I've already done the 90,000 mile timing belt/water pump/all belts maintenance because it is ten years old. Never wrecked.
But I've decided not to sell it.

make sure you look at the value on www.kbb.com alot of people think their prelude is made of gold and ****. also check for rust in the rear quarter panels. the 92-93's are missing a few things.. no cup holders, a really awkward console and a few other differences on the interior. 94-96's are better in that dept. also keep in mind that 96 preludes are OBD2 which will make swaping engines and such alot harder w/the new emmisions bs

Honda's are very good at holding their value, because 100k is not really high miles for a Honda. Yea, it's high if you have a ford or chevy... but it's not even half over for a honda with over 100k. Preludes are out of production, yet there is still a nitch demand for them.... therefore they still hold their value.
Have to remember one important rule... "something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it" ... If no one is willing to pay $12g for a prelude... then no it's not worth it. Obvisiouly people are paying it, so to someone... it is worth it.

Hey I'm selling my 93Si and it is in great shape. I can send you a flier if you haven't found one you want yet. it has 129K on it but I replaced the main bearings, valves, and piston rings 30,000 miles ago. Book on it is about 6,500 and i have about 3,500 in aftermarket mods done to it in the last 2 years so i'm asking 8k for it, but that's negotiable. Let me know if you want to see the flier with pics. my email is mboris1@hotmail.com
