Not sure about the effect it has but here is a cool site that shows you pic by pic how to install it. Just click on short shift instalation. http://www.ntpog.org/mods/index.shtml

only adapters are available and I thought it was pretty nice, but took it out after a day. I heard you can have problems with em but who knows.

I have a DC Sports adapter on mine and it reduced my shift throw quite a bit. They are pretty easy to install, but they stick up into the shift boot a little and hit the front of the console when you go into 3rd and 5th. If you just shave the console where the adapter hits it, it won't hit and it will work great. You won't see the shaved part either cuz it's on the inside

i have to agree with LudeBehavior, i have a DC Sports adapter , i think it makes a big difference but there are more types out there i have seen one from B&M that you can adjust for the amount of throw you want and its supose to clear the console if it does or not i dont know but i like mine

I have a Pure racing that's been shaved to clear the center consle. At first I hated it and it sat in my trunk for close to a year, one day I put it in and loved it. Ever since it's been in and I really like it.

I also have a Pure Racing piece and haven't had any problems, shift are shorter, and crisper.

Just did mine today...got a deal from a friend of mine that owns a shop...gave it to me for $50.00 brand new DC short shifter...Noticeable enough and more precise shift feel.
