Default odometer

Does anyone know where I can get an odometer for a 95 v-tec with under 40,000?

Thats also odometer fraud so be careful u don't get caught, its a federal law.
They can catch u by past oil records, registration anything where they took mileage down so dont go any lower than your last one.

The Odometer is for the whole car. Another engine does not allow for such a change. Indeed the Fed can get real nasty about this.

:nono: A new engine does not qualify for a new odometer.... only a new car does! Now, when odometers break (and they do), there is a log sticker that MUST be placed into the drivers door jam as to when it was changed and how many miles were on the origional when it broke. Also, at least in Ohio, odometer replacements must be reported to the BMV and noted on the title.

How hard would it be to have an extra tumbler of numbers put somewhere in the cluster that you could set to what you assume is what the miles are on the new engine? But still keep the original for legal purposes and all.

Basically to save from doing the math on the exsisting odometer, math sucks.

Well, lets see..... if you have 67,580 miles on the car when you replace the engine, and you write it down in the manual or somewhere on the car, even when the odometer shows 113,289, you can simply pull out one of those calculator thingies and subtract the marked mileage from the current mileage, giving you the mileage on the engine. Or you could just go back to 3rd grade .

BTW, the answer is 45,709, in case you're trying to figure it out.

I know it's simple math. Sometimes I guess I'm just lazy... but it would be fun to say "hey, I have dual odometers"
