When hondaprelude was stil up there were a few guys there running 235-40-17's on a 7.5" wheels. I'd be willing to bet you need an offset around 48mm with that tire width. As for lowering, all of them were lowered to some extent but I can't remeber what they used; i.e. H&R, GC, TEIN, etc...

Is the picture you have posted with the 215/40/17 on or the 235/35/17's? The 35's should be less in overall diameter. Will the 235's rub though? There used to be a sit where you input your stock tire dimension and put in your other tire dimension and it would give you the differances. It is on PreludeOnline but I have been locked out of there. I do not want to pay.

the picture i posted was with the 215/40/17. it should be relatively close as far as diameter since the profile is a ratio not an actual set number.

Here's a tire size calculator.

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

Ya know, their is a plan b,.......225/40-17
But the only tire choice that I cam up with that might be worth a hoot was Nitto NT-555's

This thread caught my eye cause I want to put as wide a tire that I can on a 5th gen accord. I to am after grip. But frankly I'd be surprised if 235/35-17 would fit and not rub somewhere in the suspension's total possible travel.

i would really not want to use a Nitto tire. ive heard bad things about them, like the rubber bubbling. poor traction with them...etc....etc

which is why i wanted to go with a 235/35/17. lots of tires in that size field.
