I have a single blue wire blue-taped to a harness under the hood. anybody have any idea what its for?

 

that my friend is the HONDA Tach test connector. Its used to diagnose tach signals to see if its firing or working properly. If you trace that wire, it will go back to the coil(distributor cap). I use that connector all the time for remote starts on honda's and some acura's
