Default 5th GEN prelude owners... i need help

ok.. i have a problem. whenever I drive my car in the morning.. it takes about 4 second to shift from 1st gear to 2nd gear. (btw I have 1997 Prelude SS) and then when the contact is made to the 2nd gear it clunks really hard. it's been doing that since 2 months ago..I thought it would be ok if I drive it with sport shift.. but it still didn't work. So I thought I needed to change the automatic transmission fluid since it's been a while... and I changed it couple days ago.. but it still does that... I need help... btw after 5 munites of driving.. it doesn't do that.. only right after i start my car.

sorry im a newbie.. i have a question.. if you look in the 5th GEN prelude manual.. there is a page where the instruction to change your door light. do we have door lights?

thanks alot

Only the SH has door lights, and it sounds like your going to join those that have had their SS tranny take the ****z. Go easy on it, and start saving your money. Hope you have an extended warranty.

The Sport Shift has always been somewhat troublesome. Honda just recalled a lot of automatics and sport shifts in the Accord, 3.2TL/CL, Civic, and Prelude. Unfortunately, they are only for 1999-2001 model years.

you'd be better off just swapping out your tranny and putting a stick in, it will be much cheaper in the long run.
