Default bent and cross threaded lower crank pulley

I just got a 92 prelude SI with an H23 and after like a week of driving it the belts started coming off and a weird bumping noise started. I took it to the shop and the dude said that the bolt that holds the lower crank pulley is bent and cross threaded and that I needed a whole new engine. Anyone know if this is true? Ive been looking into getting an H22 that comes with the engine, tranny, wiring harness and ecu. Is this going to be an easy swap? Is there anyways to fix my H23?

I, too, have a 92 si with an h23 and I found that this engine is a BIG poopstain. XD Countless things have gone wrong with mine and I just can't let it go because of the damn 4ws. ;-; I need a good engine... preferably an h22a1... or maybe the h23 that came in the accord wagons...... they have v-tec. an h23a with v-tec and 4ws would be amazing.

probably not the whole engine but alot of work to replace the crankshaft if another bolt cannot be put in. as the trans has to be pulled and oil pan & bearings.

Yeah same here!
Tech says it's too expensive to fix, better off replacing it.

yea I am just gonna get a JDM H22. its like 1700 but it comes with a tranny and all the shit I need to set it up in my car. I dont feel like trying to fix my engine then having something else just go wrong.
