Default Valve train troubles

I am getting a terribly ticking from cylinder number 4 and I'm burning a lot of oil. The ticking noise is always there and when I adjust the valves it adjusts the pitch of the tick. is there anyway to repair this myself? Could someone post a DIY? I don't have a $1000 to get it repaired at the honda dealership. :s thank you in advance.:crazyr:

Buy a new head? Why does that sound difficult? and how about a walkthrough guide?

How about first off you take off the valve cover and see if any valves are jacked.

nope..... but my valve cover gasket is leaking out the side where cylinder 4 is.... I'm fixing that now if I can find some gasket sealant..... and I suppose that everything looks ok..... but I still can't fix the tick.... I adjusted it a little and changed it's pitched.... I think I might save up for the costly repair. :s does anyone know what kind of sealant can substitute gasket sealant?

I don't think anyone is going to take the time to write out a step by step for you.
Reason?
There is one already made called the repair manual...
Go and download it for free, it will have all the info required to do this work.
But keep in mind, that this is very technical work and experience is highly recommended.

are you adjusting it properly? turning the engine 180% before adjusting the other half of the valves? follow the adjustment proceedure to the nuts. if it doesnt fix it, try a valve job

you wont be able to do valve work yourself. if you have the right connections, you can remove springs and such, but your gonna have to pull the head off to perform a valve job. they have to be ground a lapped at precice angles...so what i would do, is adjust the valves according to procedure. (you can go a little tight on the adj if you want, dont go too tight). if that doesnt cure it then rip off the head to take it to a machine shop
