Default h23a + boost

Alright, my friend is hooking me up with a 95 accord with a jdm h23a vtec. I posted here because when I was searching on google, all my results came to the prelude forum not accord. I made the account so i can read more info but have yet to find the info im looking for. All the info i have below is from searching but HT is down atm.

Alright, How much boost and power(whp) can the block hold? I ask each because PSI determins the life if rings and such correct? While whp will determin life of sleeves/rods?

Also, does this motor come with an LSD, i herd it does but i cant find any info to support this.

I would like to boost the motor for 350whp and i plan on upgrading worn parts(ring upgrades?) but keeping the oem rods/pistons and im wandering if this can be done safely/reliably as long as my tuner does a good job. The engine already comes with low compresion.

Thanks in advance.

H23's don't have the old floating bores, so it will help to stay more rigid under higher pressures, but..... it DOES have FRM (Fiber Reinforced Metal) sleeves. I've never heard an exact psi that will cause these to fail, although it sounds like you will be producing some very high pressures. They are rather thin so a great deal of pressure might cause some probs. You might want to look at resleeving.

Compression values will have an impact on the rings... that's part of the reason that you switch to forged pistons (tighter clearances).
While whp will determine life of sleeves/rods?
RPMs & pressure will have a lot to do with the wear of the sleeves and rods. WHP is just a measure of the horsepower after transmission losses.

Can't say for sure on that one. Would be amazed if it wasn't limited slip.

Honestly, you'd be better off ditching the cast slugs and getting some forged ones (if only for the increased durability and clearances). You can probably get away with the stock rods and the stock crank is pretty darn good.

well just so you know.. there are little turbo users around these parts.. i go elsewhere when I research boost. I am planning on turboing as well.. perhaps looking for 240whp or so.. Boosting on stock internals requires a really good tuner and the ringlands are pretty weak on our motor. I dont think it helps that you have the JDM h23, because JDM usually means higher compression. If you want to know more about boosting on stock internals I can send you a couple of my threads from other forums where we got into great detail about the setup.
good luck, and make your goals a little more realistic than 350hp.. remember slapping on a turbo doesnt solve the problem that you have a stock honda motor under the hood!

his engine is a different engine completely, it's much more like the h22 than our h23.
