where is the steering gear located on 96 prelude si,which i need to adjust it.

The rack and pinion unit is not like the older steering gear box units that could be adjusted to get rid of play in the wheel. As far as I know, there are no adjustments available.
It's not really that common to have a lot of play in the wheel due to the R&P system. If you have a good amount of play, check your bushings, ball joints, etc to make sure nothing is damaged.
