It can be done and has been done before, but you'll need money, time, and paitience to complete the swap...There's a guy on H-T, dropping a corvette motor into a 4th Gen. Prelude, and then there's another pic of a black Prelude floating around that is RWD as well....

I really fail to understand what makes people want to change the drivelines of a car. Is it bragging rights? "Hey, I spent $40,000.00 on my civic and now it's a stable, RWD car with a 350 Chevy." Or better yet, "Hey, I just spent $500.00 making my civic RWD with a 350 Chevy and it has $35,500.00 worth of mods that I need to do to it to make it stable and reliable."
I guess if you're Mr. Trump and have nothing but time and money, then it would be something to do just to say you've done it. For most of us that are serious car builders, we let the FWD cars stay FWD, RWD remains RWD, and AWD stays AWD. We invest the money into making the best of it rather than trying to make a Ferrari out of a Geo Metro. When we want to play with RWD or AWD, we go GET a RWD or AWD car and fix it up.
Well, I guess I don't have to understand it... it's your ride and you can make it a disaster if you want.

I understand lynxx but my prelude calls to me and sceeams rally all the way lets hit the dirt and take to mountain roads and rain mudd at high speeds I wanna make the prelude that I love so much something of a god to glory in the honda world the ultimate prelude so if you have an Idea of how to convert this without the chevy I say all honda tell me about honda parts I can use to make it all wheel drive

I once had a guy ask me how the Pros manage to make a 350mph drag car out of, say, a new Pontiac Firebird. The answer is simple. It's NOT a new Pontiac Firebird, it is just modeled to LOOK like one.
What's my point? If you can get a rolling chassis (or better yet, build one) that is AWD, you can make it look like any car you want just by modeling the exterior.
I know what you are trying to accomplish, but you are looking at TONS of fab work to convert a Prelude to AWD (or most any FWD or RWD car for that matter) and in the end, you might as well have built a chassis from scratch, especially with an AWD vehicle. They're more balance-dependant that most.
Anyhow, I don't mean to sound like an asshole. I'm simply being realistic. If I were to tackle such a job, I would build my own tube frame and model the wheelbase after the Prelude so I could use body parts to make it look like a Prelude.
Only my $.02, tho.

buy an sti or evo then. honda's are not rally cars. take an s2000 engine and drivetrain and shove it into your prelude if you want rwd. good luck with that.
