Default 2.3 Crank

I just bought a 1992 prelude si. the owner before had a pully prob that he didnt take care of and it ate every tooth off the crank shaft, including the key stock. How hard will it be to put a new crank shaft in, and about how much will it cost me. the car only cost me 650.00 everything else is in great shape. i just want it on the road as soon as possible. right now i am driving a 1995 accord ex auto. any and all help would be nice. thanx

You are probably better off getting a used shortblock and putting your head on it.

Default Big job!

I agree, get a short block!!! With all the work you'd put into replacing the new crank, all the bearings, and hoping that all the clearances are correct, you would have a real headache. It can be done, but a good engine shop would have to be involved. With that alone you would easily double the entire cost of what you paid for the car.

honestly you can get a crank and put it in wihout removing the engine it may take some patience but I say most people are lazy and take the "easy" way out

try measuring for bearing clearance's with the engine still in the car. constantly installing the crank and removing it. PITA.
