Default Best head for a B20

Im sure this has been covered a few times and in all the threads Ive read they rant off into random subject before the point is clear.

I have a stock B18C head from my GSR and I also have a lonely 103hp B20A3 prelude which is of course carb setup. Ive been told that even if I get through the hassle of the ECU setup I'll still have an issue with the proper oil pressure to actuate the wild cams. is this true? If so what is the fix? Money isnt a serious issue but I dont want to deal with pulling the entire engine. This is more or less a toy and the engine is only 96k miles old.

I don't even think that's possible....the only option that I would do is an H22 swap.....thats about all you'll be able to do.

you cannot swap a b series vtec head onto a b20a without major work. b20a's share nothing in common with the rest of the b series family except the name.

I'm aware the B20 is just a name and is NOT part of the B series family. I was just told by someone that it was somewhat feaseable. Do I need the B20 from a CRV?

you can do it, but the machining needed to make it work is too much to make it not worth it. yes you need a b20b/z from the crv.

and you can't just grab a b20 from the crv and put it in your car.

the problem is the "engine-less" design that came with the 3rd gen preludes. the hod falls into the engine bay, thats the reason the engine is tilted in the first place. so the mounts won't match up.

you can get h23/h22 mounts for 3rd gens not to mention custom mounts always work as long as you know someone who's can make em any engine is techincally feasable you could put a f20c1 in a 3rd gen and convert to rear wheel if you had the time and the money it all depends on what you want to do and how much you want to spend if you just looking for a quick fix for something to toy around with do the fi swap if your looking for something to be a rocket try the h22 or b16b or a b18c6 with custom mounts hell go absoulty nuts take out the rear seats and put a c32a (nsx motor) and build a engine bay around it now that would be nuts

lol I have sunk too much money into my S4 to be dropping bank on the prelude. My fiance would kill me haha. And I like how the engine tilts although it is a pita to do any work on the intake side. A B18C6? lol let me just rape my GSR of her drivetrain real quick hahaha. My friend Enrique does have a 1st Gen CRV tho hehehe :uhhok:

Its ok, he can have my B20A3 He'll be wondering why he needs to push the accellerator to the floor to set the choke when he goes to start it haha
