failed emission?
i recentl failed my emissions and the mechanic told me it was the egr valve. he said it was clogged with carbon deposits that the car didn't burn off? does anyone know how i can fix this or why it happened?
is your lude an older model? sometimes this will happen when the car is older and/or the mileage is too high.... This happened to me on an older car I had and what you can do is take out the egr valve clean/have it cleaned, and all the passages and this should fix your problem..... if its a newer car and you already have build up like that it may be another prob..... plus what octane do you usually run?
i have a 97 and i have about 103,000 miles on it when it failed. could it be the spark plugs aren't woring properly? i also get a knocking sound from the block. oh yeah i use 93 octane. someone please tell me whats wrong with my car?
did you change your spark plugs and spark plug wires? if not... theyre probably due at 100K... does it knock only when its cold or all the time? cause when dohc motors get older they have a tendency to knock when they are cold so when you smog it make sure its fully warmed up...
