transmission question...
i am looking to get an h22 manual tranny.. been shopping around... this guy is selling this tranny but says it wont go into 5th gear... how bad of damage is that.. how much would it cost to fix it....? or could i just change out the gears my self...? just wondering
I could be something as simple as a bent shift fork. You really won't know the scope of the problem until you crack it open and take a look. Gears, syncros, and other big ticket items can get expensive quick, so keep that in mind. Tranny labor can be expensive as well due to all the details involved.

dont buy that tranny whatever you do. If you are going to pay to have someone else fix this problem, they will recommend replacing the tranny becuase it will end up the same price if not cheaper to do that. If your going to do it yourself well good luck because im pretty sure whoever used that tranny before just grinded that tranny up good especially in 5th which to me sounds like that guy must have had a lazy foot or a lazy hand cuz 5th would be a tough gear to blow, the normal ones to go out on ludes are 2nd and 3rd so keep that in mind too, if your checking out trannies listen to them when they shift because if they make a tiny grind into gears than theres a good chance of shaved or missing teeth on the gears. P.S. DONT BUY
