Default tein springs problem....

Ok, I have a 95 prelude, and I just put tein s-spec springs and tokico blue shocks/struts on my car last night. The only problem is the rear sits on the tires and the front sits up AS HIGH as stock height??? I did put the front springs in the front and the rears in the rear, I made sure of that, and they are not the imitation tein springs that are going around right now, mine have tein stamped on the springs not the stickers(although I did buy them off ebay). Anyways, does anyone have any input on this? I mean do you think they will settle down a inch or so after a week or so of driving?

probably not, but even if they do, then your rear shouldn't be that low. What part exactly is on the rear tire? And did you double check that everything's mounted in the proper position?

springs control the ride hight, so did you by any chance hold the stock springs up next to the lowering springs and compare hight? are you sure you assembled the correctly??

I heard s techs aren't that good. Tein springs supposedly aren't near the quality of their full coilovers.

yes, the front springs were about a coil and a half shorter than the stock ones, but there is definately alot more wheel gap between tire and fender in the front than the rear. Everything was installed right as far as I can tell, and also I think I might need an alignment because now when my tires are straight my steering wheel is turned about 45 degrees to the right.... its like when Im driving and going straight the steering wheel just automatically sits 45 degrees more to the right, the steering wheel does not sit straight like is should...

i think you installed them incorrectly... what was your exact procedure for removing the front strut assembly? the only way your steering wheel would be off would be if you miss-adjusted your tie rod ends, which should not have been adjusted at all during the process. but keep in mind that when you changed your camber by lowering your car, you also changed toe, but there shouldnt be enough of a change to make your wheel crooked.

honestly, I had a buddy help me who has alot of mechanical knowledge since I dont. Im not sure what all we disconnected to drop down the strut assmbly, but I know we got the shocks and springs in there correctly, and everything we disconnected we put back together and all the bolts lined back up. I mean the tires are not bowing out or anything like that....Im not sure. I called a local tire shop and they said an alignment would fix it but Im not sure. I mean the car does sit lower now definately, but the back has like one to two fingers of gap between the tire and fender well, while the front has three fingers worth of gap. The car sits completely flat from front to back now, but the gap looks funny in the front. But I honestly know everything we took off we bolted back up the same way....

well you should have it hooked up to the alignment comp. and have them check the ride hight and make sure its what you want... does it just look funny? do you think the back is actually lower than the front?? make sure your camber doesnt exceed -2.0 degrees, any more than that and you will eat your tires off in a couple of months. also you want to make sure your camber is even from side to side. a half degree difference from side to side wont cause a pull-any more than that and car might drive funky (pull/drift)
