Just wanted to to give my positive experience with my SS Prelude. I have around 111k miles on my 1999 Lude and haven't experienced any transmission problems. I'm not quite sure I understand what you're describing, but my car doesn't seem to do that so I would maybe have a mechanic check it out before you buy it.

hey wats up,i have a 97 prelude wit the sport shift and my tranny finally died.i have heard from alot of people that the transmissions on them are weak.listen 2 my issues i was having when i first brught the car.firt thing i coundnt get in and start and drive off as most people do,if i did the transmission would have a hard shift slamming each gears into place.i have to let the vehicle warm up for at least 20 minutes before i can go any where.if i didnt let the vehicle warm up it would stall out even though its an automatic.i was supposed to get it check out at da dealer but neva got to it..once the car is warmed up it would drive fine wit no issues.all the gears feel strong no slipping or nuffin.the car finally died on staurday,it would not move, the tranny wasnt selecting and gears.i took it to get it rebulit so i should get it back on wednesday, will let u guys know how that went, but that was in issue wit the tranny on an h22 v tec with 105k on it.and i had the trans flushed out with genueine honda fluid.

If you had it "flushed", that more than likely caused more harm than good. Honda trannies should never be flushed, the result can mean death for the tranny. Drain and fill...repeat...drain and fill....

Default transmission issues

well i took my 97 prelude to da transmission shop and one of the bearings inside was bent and it chewed up da casind of the tranny, also the lock up selenoid is bad, that part makes the transmission have a rough shift in gears, and also if the car is not warmed up it will hesitate to shift gears, but once its warmed it changes fine.but i got the car back but my differencial is bad inside da tranny, that part is in national back order,if any one have one let me know asap.i am waitin for the lock up selenoid 2 come ,once i get that i will let u guys know if that actaully make my car change gears smoothly.but that is da issue i have wit this car.no 1 has that differential in da us and its $1000 for a racing 1,so if any 1 has one please let me know so i can be on da road again..thank u
