why is my engine skipping?

Default why is my engine skipping?

i have a 1991 prelude 2.0si i just put new plugs, wires, cap,and rotor on. i also had a can(muffler) put on at the same time and now the car skips after it warms up a little bit. What is wrong?

I had a simular problem with mine. What kind of plug wires did you get? The originals I found, have vents in them, check to see if you plug wires are popping up, they will look like they are still on, but if you push on them they will go down. Always use factory parts when messing with the electronics of a honda, the factory knew what they were doing.

Yeah those wires pop out, my 88 used to do it every once in a while. Do you have a check engine light?

yes i have a check engine light but its been on for awhile. It goes on and off whenever it feels like it and never bothered the performance before.Thanks for the info by the way

yes it shakes like its going to stall. Feels like i lose two cylinders when it starts to skip.

Lets see if I can help some. If its skipping it may be the spark like they the other people said. It might even be water in the engine if u have a cold air intake. Does it skip while driving? It may even be a sensor, but check the ecu for codes.

yeah deffidently either a spark plug problem or i think that maybe some water deffidently could slipped into the engine, same thing happened to one of my buddies a while back his car was skipping and he took it to a shop and some water got into the engine....
