Default H22a4 build up, how much $$?

I'm considering going all motor as an alternative to a low boost turbo or SC to keep ATTS active. How much would it cost to build the H22a4 to around 240whp? Parts and tunnig.

Thanks

Its pushin 200hp right now...I dont know if you can get 40 more horses on I/H/E alone.

He wants to run 240 whp...the h22 only runs 200hp which is realistically around 160ish whp.

The SC will push you areound 235 whp, but then you have added strain. The SC new is $3000 plus tuning...you are looking at probably around $4000 all said and done for the SC

h22a runs about 180 whp with I/H/E. So maybe, with some fine tuning, cams, and some internals to up the compression you could hit your mark.

Some extra things you can do for a tiny bit of power.

Index your spark plugs (aim the open end of the plug toward the intake side of the chamber good for 1 hp)

60/40 Water/Coolant Ratio (also good for 1hp)

I relocated my IAT sensor (Intake Air Temp sensor) Away from the Intake manifold (naturally the car will be hotter there then more towards the outside of the bay) This will cause the engine to inject slightly more fuel and advance the timing just a tad, good for about 1-2hp.

Full synthetic oil is provento produce 1-2hp as its been seen everywhere on all sorts of dyno's but once you go synthetic you shouldn't go back.

You can also Insulate your lines, fuel, air, anything that would be robbed of power from heat. The intake arm for example if shielded properly can produce more power as well as say the fuel lines (colder fuel and air = colder fuel charge = more power) good for a small bit of power for next to no cost, granted it looks retarded its still effective.

Do the coolant bypass mod, I did and you can feel the difference. Theres a good possibility you'll nail like 6hp from it or even a tad more. Its located on one of these prelude forums how to do it, I followed the instructions.

Also I recommend you advance your timing as far you can go without pinging, theres also articles on this on some of the prelude forums. Not sure how much power you'll gain, but its noticable in the low end department.

Theres a good 10-15 hp available for you just to fine tune some things. I would recommend these mods, I/H/E a larger throttle Body, new intake manifold, apex'i VAFC to fine tune those vtec kicks.

I'd say you could have about 220 whp with that.

I know it's alittle late but thanks for the helpful info Godoferlru. But what I was really getting at was like, lets say I got some forged pistons and eagle rods on top of the things you suggested?

Where do you come up with that shit?

Everything you said won't do shit except the last recommendation, and that will only get you around 180-190 whp with decent tuning of that vafc.

Until you prove that you picked up power with those rediculous mods, they are a waste of time.

Its not cost effective to go all motor. If you want 240whp just get the JRSC, and at 4k installed its cheaper then going all motor.

That's what I thought, just needed the validation. Although, I was thinking more of getting a turbonetics kit and staying at the kit specified boost and just use a VAFC Neo for fuel tuning. What do you think? With a good tune, I should be okay on stock internals, or should I drop in some lower comp, stock bore Mahle slugs? I won't be able to sleeve the block. That's out of the question.

Get some better fuel management and a good tuner, keep the boost down and you should be fine on stock internals.
