Default pedal install help please

well im installing momo pedals...drilled the two holes for the clutch, and put the two screws in the holes. i go to use the nuts they came w/, and they are not a conventional nut. they are only threaded about half way thru, and the other half is this white plastic, so you cant just turn them and turn them until the pedal is tight.... why are they like this? am I missing something, do I have to go out and buy new nuts?

ya i figured it out, you just have to hold the nut tight with something else and force it through the non-threaded part.

EDIT:

well ive moved onto the brake, and because of the "root" or stem of the pedal being in the top right corner, im drilling the holes more to the right side. THe first was pretty easy, but the one towards the top of the pedal is awful, the drill just slides around because its not a flat surface. Im not sure how to approach it and I;m giving up to head off to work.
Also, from the drawings ive seen on honda replacement parts websites, the accerator doesnt have a metal plate underneath it, its simply a more tough and hard plastic plate over a metal frame. Would I just drill through the plastic? wouldnt make much sense.
thanks

mike
