Strange sound when i hit the breaks..
I have a 5th gen lude and sometimes when i break at high speeds (damn traffic lights turning yellow and damn photo enforced intersections) i hear this moaning sound, its quite distinct. Could it be the abs kicking in? And when i idle in traffic going lesss than 5 mph, and i hit the breakes, i hear this click/clack. Is this something i should be concerned about? And theres one more thing when i turn my steering wheel all the way in one direction, and turn it back to its center, i hear that distinct moaning sound too...whats causing all this?
These sounds do happen quite frequently by the way
If anyone could helpme, thanks in advance....

you can feel the abs in the pedal. the pedal shutters (up and down). mosts shops do free brake inspections.
when you turn your wheel to the stop point it puts stress on the pump because of high pressure in the powersteering system. thats probly your sound. sounds like a whining or a moaning/groaning. its hard on your pump to turn to the stop point. avoid it if possible

ahh thanks for the info sounds like that is exactly what is going on i should bring it to someone who can actually diagnose this. But one more question sometimes when i just back up w.o even turning the wheel i hear a moaning sound... could it be warped rotors or even possibly rusted rotors??

yeah maybe your rotors are scored and whatnot. have them looked at by someone who knows their stuff. my old brakes made some hella loud clacking noise because the rotors were warped to shit(but that also shook the car bad too) and that was more noticeable than the sound.
Your Problem is same as mines was, what it is is the bushings not the brakes. You need to buy polyurethane bushings for the front, back optional. Heres whats going on when your stoping your whole control arm is moving back causing your wheel to move back into your fender the noise is your control arm under crazy stress just upgrade the stock rubber weak bushings to poly they are very strong and can handle mad horse. I replaced mines and the take off is crazy no noise no lag when i take off nothin! The kit is cheat look for it at any perfomance site.
