Default Anyone here have a Stage 2 Clutch?

On my h22a I have an Exedy Stage 2 clutch with a 9lbs chrome moly racing flywheel. When I let out on the clutch its engagement is not smooth like my other vehicles, but only when leaving from a dead stop. Any other time after i am rolling the clutch engages like my other cars normally do. This is the first time i have ever driven on anything other than an OEM type clutch so I was wondering if it was just the way clutch engages or if there is something wrong with the car?

i have a stage 3. it's pretty smooth unless i drive a different car for a few days in a row. and thats just because its a bit harder to push in. did you break it in first? i'm pretty sure that with all clutches theres a break in period before you go balls out with it.

Well yes and no. Yes there is a break-in of 750 miles. The clutch has less than ten miles on it since it was just installed. No I haven’t been driving the ish out of it either. From the first time I let the clutch up to start the car moving there is a kind of shake or vibration that is abnormal to all of my other vehicles. The hard pedal was expected.

yeah its cool.
Tight clutches do that with a light flywheel. At least i have a h22 with a act xtreme pressure plate, street disk, and 11# wheel, it took some getting used to.
The wifes car has a 3 puck spring-less clutch on a turbo b16 and that thing is a pain to pull away from a stop sign slowly.
You will get used to it, and there probably is some break-in wear that will make it less grabby.
