Acura wont start
I have a 90 acura legend, and its a piece of crap. I went to start it today, and the check engine light came on, and it cranked over a couple times, and then did that clicking thing it does when the batterys dead. But the batterys not dead. The lights and everything else works. So I tried to start it again and it finally caught and started, but the engine light was still on and it was making this weird pulsing/sucking noise up near the right driver side area. It was idiling really weird too. When I went to step on the gas it would hesitate for a second. It sounds like the fuel pump, right? But would the fuel pump not working make it do that clicking noise it does when the batterys dead, and its not getting enough power?? Is there a an electrical switch somewhere that would make it do this?? Thanks for any advice!!
corroded battery cables could be the problem. its like cancer-keeps working its way down the cable, once the resistance of the cable is high enough it becomes very difficult, if not impossible to start. . i see that alot at work. as for the bad idle and the sucking noise--sounds like a vaccum leak. check all vaccume lines and ensure that they are connected and not cracked or broken. also a clogged/partially clogged idle air control valve passage would make the idle surge (rev up and down) remove the IAC and inspecet passage
