Default What's this thing called?

I have developed an oil leak on my 96 VTEC. Oil is dripping from the seam between the engine and the part that you screw the filter onto. Is there a gasket in there? What's that part called, anyway?

Change your oil filter, before you put it on rub oil around the edges of the filter, when you screw it on only turn it until its snug, do not tighten as far as it can go.

But the leak isn't at the oil filter, it's between the part that the oil filter screws onto and the engine. I initially thought it was the filter, too, but when I crawled under with the engine running, I can see the drip starting between the block and this un-named mount...
