89 Prelude Si swap info...
VTEC head swap onto the OEM B20a/B21a is possible but is not very practical. There's not much info so you'd be basically heading into uncharted waters.
H22 swap is doable but the company that made the kits went out of business (Place Racing). You can do custom mounts with custom axles (94-97 Accord inner and mid-beam with the OEM outer joints) and then do the wiring (OBD0 to OBD1 for 3g's that came with a B20ax stock but the B21a1's are OBD1 so you just need to add the vtec wires like doing an H23 to H22 swap (and maybe a few other sensors that weren't on a 3g stock).

As for doing a GSR swap, it would be a bit harder than the H22 because I've never seen any info on the swap (writeups) such as the axle combination(s). Just a bit harder but then again you'd be lacking torque with the B series (but that's a matter of preference).

other than hood clearance, i don't see why the gsr swap should be so difficult. it's b-series to b-series. what is it that makes it so complicated? gsr into ef is common, but it's a pain in the ass, there's a lot of stuff to do. why would a 3g lude be harder than that?
i don't understand why the gsr swap won't work in a 3g lude. i mean it's b-series to b-series, what's the deal?! people swap GSRs into EFs all the time, and that's a pain the ass, dent the frame, custom shift linkage, etc, etc. other than the hood clearance issues, what's the big problem? how much harder could gsr into 3g lude be than gsr into ef? i just can't see any reason why people never do it. seems like it would be a great car!
I believe no one do those types of swaps in 3 gen ludes because they're not popluar like the Ef's, 92-96 ludes or Tegs. No offense to the 3rd gen ludes but if you look in mags or shows no one just not into that gen. ludes. Thats just how it is in the import scene. Good luck if your buddy do the swap..
