Default Good deal on prelude?

I am helping my friend buy a car. I drove gst, gsx, civic SI, 3000gt sl, and others, then finally i found a prelude that i liked. the prelude is probably the most solid car i drove out of the many cars i tested that was in our price range (excluding sti's, type-r's, 300zx).

What do you think about this deal. 99' Black honda prelude (h22a4), 130,000 miles. Original owner, clean title and is a girl who's parents did the maintence on the car. claimed the millage was because she drove to ucla to san diego alot for school.

Now the millage is high, but they were on top of maintence. I checked out the car and it's very solid: clean, never modded, the clutch / tranny felt great, no scratches at all almost. The only problems i found was the radiator slightly was starting to leak and of course my concern for the high millage.

i've nogiated down to $8,150.

Kbb: $8,400
Edmunds: About the same

What do you prelude owners think? Bargain, fair or overpriced? thanks.

Thats a lot of miles. Ask them if they have done the t-belt and when, you might have to do it again. Also ask them if the car burns oil, this is fairly common with 5th gens but id be nice to get one that dosent. Thats all I can think of right now.

It's got new brakes (durlast brand from autozone, good for another 6-10months). T-belt was done at 95 (she had records). As for oil leaks, I checked the dip stick and looked for leaks but i couldn't find any. she claimed it doesn't leak.

as far as burning? i haven't asked her.

IMO, that is a killer deal. It's bone stock, girl driven, and maintained well with records. Besides lower milage, what more could you ask for from an almost 8 year old car? 130,000 isn't much at all for a Honda.

I agree, i think it's a good deal. Esphecially how it drives and the bone-stock factor. My friend is selling his chevy s10 for the money to buy it. I'm just trying to confirm i have him the right advice that this is a good deal.

Kinda wish I was buying it .. eh, I love my teg.
