Default 4th Gen thoughts

Finally did the decent thing and got a beautiful '93 Prelude with 'only' 90k on the clock for 1700 UK pounds (about 3000 USD). Some stone chipping on the bonnet as expected but the trouble is there is no paint number on nhe door so I have no idea what silver to match with. Would anyone know? It is the original colour for sure... Secondly, the 6 speaker Honda-branded Pioneer DSP stereo is dead. Does anyone have any details about this unit? It seems pretty rare so I'm probably better off fitting a more modern double din unit - it seems a shame to loose 2 of the 6 speakers though... are there any other options. Thanks folks!

First off, congrats on the new car! A 93 with 90k miles is a good find these days. About the paint, it's possible it got repainted if the door jamb doesn't have a paint code sticker. On my car, the driver's door was replaced (and painted) before I bought it and the paint code sticker is gone.
Do yourself a favor and get a nicer CD player, don't bother repairing a stock one. The stock player is actually 4-channel, and the four speakers in front are run off the front 2 channels. It only has to be 1 DIN, so you can have the storage pocket underneath it. I use that for my wallet and my phone while I'm driving, so I don't have to carry them in my pockets.

Hi Preludicrous ... I have a silver 1992 Prelude SR (made in Japan for Canada) and my door sticker says the color is NH-552M

Not sure if that is the paint code you need, but I have all the original labels so if there is another number you need, I can check other sticker labels.

Congrats on the new lude
