I just had a mobile mechanic to come and have a look at the problem, and have concluded that it is something with the ignition switch and possibly electrical as the car doesn't want to start now. He was referring to a possible fault with the distributor or something.

Would it be possible that turning the car on and off may have destroyed or damaged the distributor? Or is it simply that the ignition switch is fully damaged? or that my battery is just completely drained?

Could someone help me out PLEASE. I have been without a car for a week or so now and I wanted to get this problem ASAP now.

Thanks in advance.

I had the EXACT same problem except mine was a bit worse... i would be riding down the road and the car would shut off..... I would be able to start the car by turning the key and holding it but when i let go of the key.. it would shut off.... it IS the ignition man.... TRUST ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go to your dealership and the part is like 30 bucks... you can do it yourself but i had them do it and they charged me 150 bucks.... it took like 10 minutes.... It jsut plugs in!!!! GOOD LUCK and keep us informed!!!

Thanks a lot dude. Fortunately I the car shut off just when I was about to leave. I can just imagine that your situation would have been much worse.

Will keep you guys informed. In Australia, most mechanics know jack about Hondas.
