91 prelude won't go into gear
Hey guys, thanks for your time in reading this! If i don't fix my car- i'm going to have to go buy a bicycle!
I have a 91 prelude 2.0si manual. I was out of the country for almost 2 months and no one drove my car. When i went to go to work this morning my car wouldn't go into gear! It will go into gear when the car is off, but when it's on it just moves around freely in neutral. It seems also that the clutch pedal doesn't always pop back up when i push it. what do you think it could be?
thanks- ali

You need a new clutch. If you have to drive the car, you could put it in 1st gear when its off, and turn it with the first gear in. The car will jump away, but you will be able drive it. Another thing is that you could try to touch the gas pedal while you are trying to put a gear. btw, didnt u feel that "clutch" smell..?
sound to me you've got a leak in your clutch hydraulic system, that's what causes low pedal resistance. Check your resevoir. Is it low? If so, it had to go somewhere. Find the leak (usually the master or more commonly, the slave cylinder), repair it or replace the part, fill the clutch resevoir and bleed it.
The only other thing i can think of is you broke the springs on the pressure plate, but thats rare.
