Default oil pan drain plug

i have a small leak from my drain plug and i know that the drain plug is slightly stripped. I was wondering if anyone has tried putting in a larger sized drain plug or the supposed selftapping plugs. the only other option is to change the oil pan which i don't really want to do b/c the pan alone is like $210.00 anyone with experiance with this please let me know any info you might have.
thanks

The torque is about 30 ftlbs on that bolt. Someone overtightened it at one time or more. Replace the pan and stop taking it to jiffy lube.
