Default F22A Modding questions

I've noticed that when I open my hood after driving the air inside is REALLY hot.

Is there any way I can help that except for installing hood scoops?

Is there a way to make my air intake suck the air from outside the engine bay? how would i do this? I currently connected the filter to the hole leading to the front bumper with a plastic bag so air is sucked from the outside, but I want something more concrete nnot just a plastic bag.

Also, does anybody know any headers for F22A? are they beneficial or a waste of money?

and are there any other mods for a F22A other than exhaust, turbo or nitrous. ??

Would those JET Performance Chip work good on my car?

Thanks

Are you serious?

Its supposed to be really hot in the engine bay. There's an engine in there. Hood scoops are great, for big carburated engines, for a Honda: a Cold air intake (~35ebay + 20 K&N filter) gets cold air from outside the engine bay.

Why not save money for an engine swap, or a turbo kit for the car? Don't bother with the rest.

a turbo for the F22A???, ye and then blow up while racing a civic on the street. I do have a cold air intake, but it takes the air from the engine bay not from outside the engine bay?? R U serious?

I am saving up money for the engine swap, but thats when the car completely dies, why waste a perfectly good F22A engine? wtf.

If its taking air from inside the engine bay, its called a Short Ram Intake., NOT a Cold Air Intake. And yes, F22's can be built to handle boost . There is a guy in Pflugerville Texas that makes his living turboing H23, and F22 engines for Preludes, and Accords.

My point is why bother throwing $ at an engine you are going to chuck out later? Its not *that* great of an engine. If you have to spend money to modify the car, focus on: brakes, suspension, wheels and tires. Then at least you have a good chassis for when you are making more power, post-swap.

Sure you can turbo it, and from what I hear it will probably outlast a turb H-series. The lower compression of the F22A makes it better for that.

The F22A is a great engine for hauling your car around every day and very durable, but don't plan to spend lots of money on it unless you specifically want to turbo it for the low compression.

um sorry. not to clear on what to do. So your saying that if I want to turbo it, i wouldnt need to lower the compression???

other than turboing my car... mayb i cant get like cam gears or camshafts, or something that would help it gain some power to the wheels?

Yes, you could turbo the F22, and no, you wouldn't need to lower the compression. I wouldn't bother with a cam and a cam gear just yet.
