Default Prelude belt problem..?

When I start my car I hear a strange noise like one of my belts are either too tight or loose, but then it goes away after about 5 seconds. The other night I heard it again when I shifted into 5th gear..so i shifted back down to 4th and the sound went away..5 minutes later or so i shifted back into 5th and the sound wasnt there anymore..anyone have an ideas?

the best slips when it drags from torque load...the belt(alternator) just needs to be re-tensioned/replaced....its cold and expands which is why it squeals when u start it then it warms, shrinks, and stops squealing

Get new belts. If it needs to be retightened, it probably isn't a good thing for the structural integrity.

And dude, the blue is killing us gray/black users.

You've got the main idea, but stuff, (especially rubber) shrinks when cold, and expands when heated.
