Default new 94 prelude questions

hey guys, new to the forums and i had a couple of questions. i just bought a 94 lude that was originally a 2.3 si but the guywho had it blew the engine and replaced it with a f22. i talked with my mechanic and he said that i still had the h23 block on it. im not mechanical at all so i was wondering if any of you guys had experience with this kind of setup and could explain to me what parts i should be looking for. either parts for a f22 or for the h23. also wut kind of HP am i looking at for this car? it seems like it has a good amount of pick up and ive smoked quite a few cars. but the actuall numbers would be nice. thanks.

Wow, that's kind of a strange story. The F22A is SOHC and the H23A is DOHC, so you can tell something by looking at the valve cover, at least.

I wish I could help you out more or tell you where to find the engine number, but I don't know.

well after doing some of my own research i found out i got the f22b which is a dohc 160@6800 engine. it is aparently a straight bolt on change with the exception of some minor oil pan aissues and such. change of filters and shit. the only thing im still not sure on is which engine to get parts for? or will they fit either? anyone know about that?

Check the engine block near the tranny, there should be a code stamped into the iron that tells you exactly what you engine is... IIRC the F22b came from the Accord. I think it has modest aftermarket support, and was/is easily swappable among the 2 cars.

You don't have to lift the car to see the engine code, just pop the hood.

Left side of engine (facing engine bay) stamped on block right next to the tranny.
