does the aem v2 really work better or is it just hype

btw... i think you probably mean 8hp at the wheel, and you also have to take note where he actually gained the 8hp compared to the stock. 8hp at 7000rpm isnt going to help shit... lol

the intake will make your car sound cool
the non-vtec h23a1 Si prelude will see almost no HP gains and lose some TQ numbers
the VTEC h22a1/h22a prelude will see a few extra HP from the AEM short pipe and very unpredictable gains from a CAI...both will cause the motor to lose TQ.
The best intake IMO is the stock intake pipe and box with resonator removed and the K+N drop in filter...i beat a VR6 GTI with the stock airbox and lost to the same car by a car length with my AEM do the math our torque-less wonders need all the help they can get

ok,ok.. so can someone clarify the main differences between an ebay cai and and aem cai? because i'm on the verge of buying a cai. i just wanna know if hp gains are different, and if the deep sounds of the intakes are much different between the two? thanks.
hmm.. didn't ludeboom bring up a dilemma... aftermarket metal tubs < stock w/ airbox resonator removed w/ K@N filter?
K@N filter $46.00
Aem cai or sri : $170+
Although, the blue aem tube looks neat.

yeah id go buy a cheap 25 ebay intake, throw away the paper filter then either use a k&N or the comptech foam filter, either way VTEC ludes should go SRI anywaysm more top end gains, while non_VTEC ludes should go CAI if you want to risk hydrolocking
