Default best way to launch is side stepping.

period. if you don't know what it is then you need to learn. side stepping aka the clutch eater. you will hit the best e.t.'s ever.

Care to explain?

I'll look it up and post if you decide not to.

EDIT: for those who did not know:

Basically, "side-stepping" is dumping the clutch by sliding your foot off the clutch pedal sideways, allowing the pedal to come up abruptly under spring tension and engage the clutch quickly; faster than raising your foot normally.

Sounds kinda silly to me. Almost stupid, at that.

Take it to a track that measures your response time and measures different distances and run it several times trying different ways. Compare slips and see what has worked best for you. What feels right isn't what necessarily wins the race.
