You may get a quicker response in the drag strip forum :)

try different rpm's and see what the car likes. dont dump the clutch. feather it and the gas to maintain traction.

I used to rev to 3500 to launch and it had BAD wheel hop so whenever I let it go at 4000 it was fine, now I got motor mounts so I go from 3500 with out problem

so its better to play with the clutch and gas so u have no wheels spin......cuz some people told me its good to have some wheel spin and then let off the gas so the tires will grab quickly and the car will jump and go

you want to minimize wheel spin as much as possible. you're just sitting there spinning the tires wasting time. when you feel the tires getting traction, then get on it.

so does that mean i want to spin them just a tad or not at all, since u said when i feel the tires getting traction, then get on it

you're gonna get wheelspin no matter what. unless you have some slicks or something. just try to keep it to a minimum.

takes some practice then you'll get the feel for it.

yankee81116 03-28-2005 07:56 PM

that makes sense....so basically have the engine rev at like 3.5 or 4k and then partially engage the clutch and play with the gas so i dont get much wheel spin????
