Default Braided brake hoses

Need the name of a good brand of braided brake hoses and a good place to get 'em.

Goodridge makes a good SS line. try to get a set that is fully coated in some sort of material on the outside.

also, i've got SS lines, and considering the pain in the ass they can be, i don't think the benefit they offer over OEM lines is worthwhile.

IF you want them to sparkle-prepae to use a soft toothbrush on them. We have them on our cars and they are superior to stock lines IMO. The reason is that they do not swell or degrade like stock ones. Brands-Goodridge (very well liked by NASCAR too) and Russell. I have sets from both companies for different cars and they are very similar. You can pay more for the Neuspeed coated ones, but they work the same.

i use Earls, they were about $100, but the pedal is definitely firmer. I got mine here:

they were simple to install, added about 10 mins to my brake job time, since i installed them when upgrading to 11" (93-01) VTEC rotors, and BB1 calipers. So i had to bleed the calipers anyway, it worked out great.

they are a pain in the ass because they need to be replaced every 2 years or so. grime and grit gets underneath the braid and degrades the rubber, eventually leading to failure as the rubber ruptures. also, if you've ever worked with the 10mm flare nut on the brake system or fuel system, you'll find that they're VERY easy to strip, even with a proper flare nut wrench.

the coated ones prevent the grit from getting under the braid. Also, i found that the fitment on my russell lines was far from ideal and led to some issues. I believe that this was a batch of lines that russell had actually recalled for this very purpose so maybe they're better now.

pedal feel will be firmer, but the difference in feel isn't worth the money or the maintenance to me.
