Default Poor Bastard

My old B20A6 did exactly the same thing, it threw a rod...Number 3...Does it knock slightly 4 a second when starting first thing in the morning (dry start 4 a second) & does it starty knocking when the oil hits temp, noticably above 3000rpm...It would also knock under load, above or rather much worse above 3000 rpm...

yea u need to be A LOT more specific on this one, many people dont realize that the h22a is just a noisy motor, standing next to my car right after i adjusted my valves to spec sounds like a sewing machine. The injectors and valves make A LOT of noise on the h22a. Every time i work on my car i always get worried at first because it ticks, until i rev it to 8000 with no problems, then i feel better because its done this for the 91,000 miles since i rebuilt it.

Maybe get a recording of this noise? That would be the best bet.

Dalcam, the b20a6 is an ancient motor, and has nothing in common with the h22a. If he had rod knock he'd most likely be blowing smoke at idle and one trip to 8000 would finish off the motor.
