Default prelude vs prelude sh??????

I was looking for a prelude and i found 2.... both 1998 and both about 10,000... but the sh prelude has 111,000 miles while the normal prelude only has 68,000..... whats the difference in their engines?... which is the better deal?

Engines are identical except for the the header because of the ATTS unit which is what makes it an Sh. I dont want to get to drawn out on how it works but simply put it lets you handle like a mofo. But it gets less to the wheels than the base and is heavier. If you want a track car get the Sh, if you want a drag car get the base, but only get the base if its a manual. Ive heard bad things about the Sport Shift thingy. The only draw back to getting the base is it has uglier rims, usually no wing, but worst of all it has gray trim along the bottom including on the rear bumper. I would suggest the base if you just want a "race car" but I would definatly get rims, an OEM wing, and have the trim painted, but again only get the base if its a manual. The low milage on the one your looking at is a good sale point too. Bottom line, if its a 5-speed then the base is definatly the better deal. Hope this info was helpful for you.

Some Type SH cars also have that trim on the bottom. It just depends if an OEM body kit was installed on the car or not. I would go with the Base model because of the amount of miles on the SH. As for the wheels and the wing that just depends on the person. I opted for no wing on the back because, well, i didn't want it.

I would also recommend the base, SH=more part=more potential for problems, considering the miles on the car...

Ill have to back up raykan, I have atts but Im not sure if it even works cause my light is on. My car still seems to handle good though, itll pick up the inside tire in the back when take a hard 90. I have heard that it is a pretty expensive to fix it too. Over all I feel the ATTS isnt worth it after the cost of a fix, the amount it weighs, and the power it robs through rotating mass. By the way every prelude has has the trim on the bottom, all of them. Though on the base models it is gray and unpainted just like a civic ex. The Sh has it painted the body color just like the civic si. Given the miles and the price, get the base, unless its an auto.

all SH's were 5 spd's and alot of base's were autos so you are much more likely to find a SH in manual over a base in manual. The SS thing is an issue with the auto tranny's, they do tend to have problems. I would get the base if i were you. The ATTS really doesnt help "that" much and it only becomes evident on the track, like beaver run. The base 5spd is faster that the SH 5spd stock for stock by a few feet, mainly because the ATTS loses more HP on the way to the wheels. For the street and modding i'd want a base 5spd...actually id want a 4G with a worked h22a . im not a big 5G fan.
