Default Question about Mileage

Hey guys, im new here and had a couple questions about high mileage Preludes (im sure this question has been ask before, but from my searches i havent found much information). Im getting a new car soon and have been very interested in the 5th gen Prelude. I've checked the local listings for these cars and found a couple ads that seemed pretty good. The only thing im really concerned about is the mileage. I found a '97 Prelude (SH) with about 100k miles selling for around 7,000 (in good condition). I know its a honda, and probly one of the most reliable cars out there, but is there anything people should be concerned about once the car gets over the 100k mark? Whats the average life-span (in miles) of the honda prelude? I want a car that will last many more years without having to replace a bunch of high cost parts, but that will also be a fun sporty ride that can be modified.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

My 99 is at 102k now and the only stuff I"ve had done is the timing belt and my master clutch cylinder wore out. I expect if I treat it well and keep it, I should get 200-300k out of the car.

yup, just drive the thing and see how it feels compared to another one with lower mileage
if it was maintained correctly they should feel very close to each other

Alright, In the ad it says the timing belt has been replaced and so has the water pump, so it sounds like the person has kept up with the maintinence on this vehicle.

I have one other quick nooby question, do all the 97-01 Prelude SH's come standard with a sunroof?

Again. I appreciate the help guys.

Doesnt matter if they said the belt has been replaced
if you get the car do it again. Do not believe anyone when they say this..risk is a bit too high IMHO.

That sounds like a good deal. 100k on a 9 year old car is good. A well cared for Honda WILL last a long time. My 92 Prelude has 218k. Shes had a hard life and still runs awsome.
