I usually see it done in drifting, never thought it'd put less stress on the drivetrain. Learn something new everyday. ED9, I would burn my keyboard but it's a laptop, so that option is out, and I'm so glad you contributed something to this thread and corrected me, douchebag.

I actually just researched it, and people DO do it in drifting sometimes. But main use would be for normal track/road racing.

Right then, so, in conclusion, no more negative energy in this thread.

So they call it something? I've actually always done that, just never realized people drive a manual differently. You can actually hear the tone of the engine and know when to execute the downshift (different sound in each car).

Whoa. I never learned it that way. I mean I would get the revs right and drop the clutch at the correct time, but you guys learned to operate the brake and gas simultaneously with the same foot? :thinking: Cool!

Normally I would just go through a corner, then let the clutch out after the turn.

I'm still learning heel toe, though haha.
