Default walbro fuel pump & adjustable fpr??

Okay, I've been running a Walbro high-flow pump & adjustable fpr all summer, tuning the system w/ an autometer a/f gague, but w/ the stock o2 sensor (so it kind of reads the ratio, but not really). anyway, ever since I got the walbro, it has been LOUD It squealed like a banchee!! But lately, it has been dead quiet, i can't hear it at all. Also, it appears on the a/f gague as if mixture is really rich, and no matter how I adjust the FPR, it stays right there. The pressure on the FPR's gague changes, but the a/f reading still looks way rich & it doesn't change. Did the FPR go bad? has anyone elses walbro just gone silent? is this bad? help!!
